On Wednesday, November 11, we broadcast a conversation with musician Julia Holter about her latest album Have You in My Wilderness with Living Writers guest host Elizabeth Wason. If you missed it, you can now listen here!
They spoke about writing music, making field recordings, what life is like when you’re bankrolled by a record label, and which is more fun: Scoring a film, or acting in one.
Living Writers airs every Wednesday, 5-6 p.m.(EST) on WCBN-FM, 88.3 Ann Arbor. The program can be streamed during show-time at www.wcbn.org and show archives are available as podcasts on iTunes.
The original God Knows Who ensemble performed regularly at Joe's Star Lounge, the Performance Network and the Ann Arbor 16mm Film Festival. GKW recently mutated from out of its obligatory prolonged sleep. Three decades have fortunately done little to change the lo-fi nuance this band held so dear.
Ben Miller on various mistuned guitars, tapes, voice, and DR-55 -- Mark Murrell on fretless 5-string bass
Randy Baker on les paul and units -- Mike Hall on drum kit.
