The WCBN app lets you listen to freeform college radio wherever you are.
The song history lets you know what you've heard and it knows the studio number so you can call in requests.
Organized by U-M students for U-M students, the 6th annual Student Late Night event at UMMA will be a fun-filled, late-night creative explosion, featuring hands-on art making activities, original performances, swinging sounds courtesy of WCBN DJs, a photo booth, free food, and more.
Hosted by the UMMA Student Programming and Advisory Council, cosponsored by WCBN and Arts at Michigan.
Well turns out TV is less glamorous than we expected. We're going back to dusty vinyl.
We did have some fun with the new format, and we hope we fooled maybe a few of you. A particular highlight was a bit of Marcel Marceau, the famous mime, we aired in the afternoon.
Thanks for tuning in and for all the great feedback. For those of you expecting fundraiser premia items, you'll be hearing from our development director, Cameron, soon!
Dear viewers, thank you for your support as we begin a very exciting journey together! Effective immediately, we are switching from our traditional freeform music and public affairs programming to basic cable. You will still receive the same great personality programming, only with cameras instead of microphones. Well, microphones, too, but cameras now, also.
Market data has driven this decision, and we think, just weeks after our record fundraiser, that switching to TV offers much better revenue possibilities: ads, product placement, and syndication options that simply don’t exist through traditional FM broadcasts. We will be spending most of this year’s fundraiser success on purchasing the rights to quality programming like Coronation Street, Gunsmoke, and the Mike Douglas Show. Soon you will be able to purchase and FM-to-TV adapter to harness WCBN TV from your radio.
Of course, we hold the freeform format near and dear to our hearts, but we are not financially capable of purchasing the rights to enough shows to match our 70,000 records, so we will start with a (very) small number of shows and play them 24 hours a day, every day.
You will still be able to call in requests at 734.763.3500, but we probably will not answer since that looks unprofessional on TV.
Will we have original programming? Yes! But first we need to do some training on TV cameras and that kind of thing. Our current thinking is a quiz show on famous TV shows. Most of our DJs only know music, so it will take some time to get everyone up to speed.
Please feel free to write to us at email@example.com to congratulate us on the big switch to the small screen!
Thanks for watching!

"This British rock musical tells a tale older than dirt -- the saga of the rise to fame of an eager young star, only to discover that fame is not all that it is cracked up to be."
