WCBN Presents SPROTON LAYER
Formed in 1969 by Roger, Benjamin, and Laurence Miller while they were in Ann Arbor Pioneer High School, Sproton Layer was described as a psychedelic mix between "monumental freak sound" and "Syd Barrett fronting Cream".
This is the band's first show together since the brothers left high school and went on to do things like be in Mission of Burma and Destroy All Monsters. After Sproton Layer they embarked on extensive careers as writers, teachers, and performers of music for adults and children. The band will play from the 1970 album “With Magnetic Fields Disrupted”, as well as material from their 2014 release, “Press Your Hand and the Whole Room Fluctuates”.
