Introduction

Louis Armstrong said that "all music is folk music -- I never heard a horse sing." On the Folk Show, we appreciate Satchmo's sense of humor and his inclusive sentiment, though we might not go quite so far. Broadcasting from Ann Arbor's only student-and-community-operated radio station WCBN FM 88.3, we aim to please with a wide-ranging weekly overview of folk music in all its incarnations. You'll hear the sounds of Appalachian hollows and West Texas plains, urban coffeehouses and rustic back porches, subways and street corners, dirt roads and Delta crossroads, Midwestern prairies and Louisiana bayous, Scottish highlands and the Andean altiplano, the 1920's and the 1990's and everything in between. Join your hosts Anders Smith-Lindall and Pat Keating every Saturday from 10am to 1pm.
